Gay marriage has been an important issue in all contemporary societies around the world and as such is generally seen by those who oppose it as a challenging the corner stone of society.
Much has been written for and against the idea that marriage is only between a male and female with children as necessary outcome. These people have not bothered to read the history of marriage to support their argument.
