Artist's Statement - North to Alaska
Imagine yourself in a land shaped by the weather: rain, mist, snow, ice and occasional sunshine. Glaciers have formed and carved out the fjords, canyons and deep valleys. The low temperatures and short growing season have influenced the vegetation- the forests, the mosses, ferns and lichens, the grasses and wildflowers. The landscape in turn supports a diverse wildlife. Imagine yourself in Alaska where you often find yourself in wilderness and the only humans are you and your travelling companions.
